The higher mental function appears in the state of Objective Consciousness. Cosmic Consciousness or illumination. In the 4th state of consciousness,that is ,in the state of Objective Consciousness, we are supposed to know the full truth about everything;we can study"things in themselves", "the world as it is." Man #7 is a Superman like Krishna, Christ,Buddha or Lao Tzu.

Richard Maurice Bucke This is the objective consciousness of Ouspensky. Bucke also mentions a state of "moral exaltation" and a "feeling of elevation, elation, and joyousness". This is the higher emotional function of O. Bucke was an inspiration to O,& Walter Russell. I have eve seen Bucke mentioned in the writings of Ohsawa but he writes about Ouspensky in "Cancer and the Philosophy of the Far East". Bucke says people who have experienced cosmic consciousness are not infallible. He thought the human race was evolving towards this level.
